Please join me in continued prayer for missionaries Victor and Dorcas Mushimbami and their ministry in Tanzania (they are from Zambia). And praise God for what He is doing! You may read more about their ministry in these previous posts. Their recent newsletter is below. Feel free to email them to let them know you are praying for them!

Dear mission friends and family,

Greetings in the wonderful name of our lord Jesus Christ!

   It is our joy to once again reach you by this means of connection and share the work the lord is doing through you and us.  Jesus, the lamb of the Father is worthy to be known and receive all the praise from every tongue, tribe, people groups and nations. Thank you so much for giving us opportunity and strength, through your support, of joining Him in this wonderful work of missions.

Esther is now a member of our family

Esther lost her both parents at a very young age. She had been living with her Uncle and Aunt. Life is not that easy here in Tanga. They could stay two to three days without eating. Her Uncle and Aunt spend most of the times travelling to find food. They could be out for almost a month, living their children all alone surviving and moving here and there, looking for food. That situation was not easy for Esther. The road she took was leading to destruction both physically and spiritually. Life was slowly shaping her negatively and we knew she would end up in marriage as it usually happens here in Tanga. We have taken Esther as our daughter. She will be living with us and give her all the love she will need and grow her until Christ is formed. Better we run out of food than to lose a soul. Esther is now a happy girl. Pray for her salvation and pray for all her needs. She will always be part of our family, until we see her in the college, married and living a life for the glory of God. This motivation came after visiting missionaries Rachel and Mark {a couple: wife from Kenya and husband from UK}

Dorcas Acts of Compassion

Victor and I have gone through hard times and we know how it feels like to live without food. During those times, God did not stop sending people we call “angels” to help us. We are reminded of the time when we were at school, how it was hard sometimes to study without food until God could provide through the leadership of the Bible College. Both Victor and I were under scholarship. We are who we are today because of the love from people who care. We are now in the mission field because of continuous help God has been sending through the Church and you, mission friend and family. We don’t want to keep this wonderful experience and testimony to ourselves. We want to also be a blessing to people who are going through the same situation. Three families where feed and two people were helped with money for medication {one was a Muslim}. Almost every day, we have families in our house and children enjoying meal fellowship with us. Dorcas Acts of Compassion is buying two to three books and pencils to children. I (Dorcas) am in the process of going through training. It is my desire to equip women with business skills, so that they could know how to work with their hands. This connection came through Joel {working with African Inland Missions}. I have already started some preparations for this business training. We need your love, support and care. We pray that, the lord continue giving you grace to hold the ropes as we go deep for the glory of our Lord.

  Joel form AIM visited us

Joel brought some books that would help us plant a mission seed in Tanzanian people’s hearts. We have also requested for gospel tracts to help us reach out to Muslims. Dorcas will also be trained in how to empower both young and old women with business skills. This will also help us be relevant to the community and build a health community that will be working with their hands to take care of their children and families.

Praise and prayer requests:

  • We are almost a year in the mission field. This has not been easy as we all know it; it has taken the will of God. Thank God with us!
  • God has continued confirming that he is always with us through your support and connection. We want to thank God for the wonderful connection with AIM. This will not only benefit us, it will also benefit future Agape missionaries.
  • Continue lifting our family in prayers. It has been a burden we always think about. We are asking the lord to lift this burden. The house will be a blessing to both our family and ministry.
  • Pray for Esther. She is sleeping on the couch. She needs clothes, soap and mattress. $86{K1500) is what we need in total.
  • Pray for our rentals. Renting period is the most challenging period for us. Rent takes all our salary and we end up starving with a baby. We will be renting the end of December and we will need $240 for three months.
