VICTOR AND DORCAS NEWSLETTER

30/JUNE/2021

Greetings from Tanga, Tanzania to you in the wonderful name of our Lord!

Dear Agape Baptist Church, Unreached missions and mission friends and family,

Hope this Newsletter has found you in good health. We pray for you and your families every day. May the Grace and peace from the Lord be with you!

We would love to share with you about what the Lord is still doing through you and us for the glory of His name:

   Thank you for your support!

We are so thankful for the great contribution toward the new church plant. Through your support, we were able to buy 10 plastic chairs, 10 hymn books, 10 bibles, small refrigerator and feed five families. We are always thankful each time we see souls sitting on them, singing through those hymns, reading those bibles and having a cup of cold water. This is strength and love demonstrated to us. We couldn’t have done it without the lord leading you. You care that’s why you shared! We are now having more than enough food because of a gift of a fridge we bought and five families were able to have food on their tables for the glory of the father in heaven. May the good Lord be with you, keep you and cause His face to shine upon you! Continue praying for a new church and pray for us, as we labor in his harvest field.

 Church service in our house

Tanga has got a history of hindering new churches from growing and having new converts. They used to burn churches. Apart from that, the place is also highly Muslim populated. This has made the mission soil hard for new church plants. This brought discouragement to some ministers of the gospel and they could rather go to the villages and preach than planting a church here in Tanga, said local missionaries. We first started by praying for the land and lost souls of Tanga. We also prayed for wisdom on how we could go about planting a church. The lord answered us this month. Through his wisdom and power, we have managed to have good friendship with the Muslims. We once visited their Mosque during Ramadan and read their Quran just like any other ordinary book. We could also share food with them. We have now Muslims who are coming to secret bible study and prayers. Some have seen the difference between the Love of Muhammad and the Love of Christ. The love of the lord is above any love a human being could ever experience. The church has started in our house. Though we may look few in a picture, we have new souls who are not attending church as at now, but are coming to our bible study groups. They have not yet experienced the love of Christ as you will hear in a next update. Pray for their salvation!

                  Bible study groups

As we were doing door to door evangelism, we came across a certain house, where we saw a catholic woman cooking outside. The house looked good, big and attractive for the glory of the Lord. We decided to ask the woman if she could be allowing us have bible study in her house. Little did we know she is a woman of peace. She welcomed us with an open heart. Islam, Catholic and Lutheran are religions that have bound and kept people in darkness and false teaching here in Tanga. The Catholics and Lutheran are as hard as Muslim to win. But the Lord’s peace came upon her and she opened her home. That’s how this bible study in a picture was born. We started with only four, and then the Lord started bringing new souls to us. We have Muslims who are attending bible studies. We have bible study groups in three different locations: one in our house every Saturday, one in Kisosora every Friday and one in Mwakizaro every Sunday evening. These bible study groups will continue even after we find a place of worship in town. They will be church cells and places where we will be having middle week church services. That means we will be just renting for Sunday service, four days in a month at the low cost. This strategy has never been done here in Tanga before. We have confirmed that it is working.

We would love you to lift the following praise and prayer requests before the throne of the Lord:

PRAISE AND PRAYER REQUESTS:

  1. We want to thank God for the support we received toward a new church plant.
  2. Thank God for the church running in our house and bible study in three different locations.
  3. Pray for salvation of souls attending bible study groups.
  4. Pray for a family house in Zambia. This is a first time giving this prayer request. The house would be on rent. It is also one of the best ways to have more support here in the field.
  5. Pray for our safety as we are working among Muslims.
  6. Pray for a football business. This is a business whereby souls would pay for watching. It will be able to support our work and bring souls to us. We need $500 in order to start it.
  7. Pray for more support for the needs are great.

Thank you once again for your prayers and support!

For His glory,

Missionaries, Victor and Dorcas Mushimbami.
