I first “met” Pastor Juma Davis online in 2017. Since then I have been so moved and inspired by his commitment and passion for reaching people for Christ in Western Kenya. You may read more about his ministry in these posts.

Please join me in praying for him and for these most recent needs:

Greetings in Jesus name!
I am sorry I did not write to you for some days. I was busy evacuating the flood victims to a safer ground after River Nzioa burst its banks as a result of the abnormal rains that is pouring and swept away homes displacing hundreds of families and killing about 8 people (5 adults and 3 children) and several animals and chicken in Budalangi, Busia County. We have been building them makeshift houses made of poles, leaves and polythene papers. We had forgotten about the coronavirus and threw caution to the wind to save lives. More than 40,000 people have been displaced. Schools, homes and some church buildings are flooded.

We are not thinking about the corona virus now but the new threat. We have been tested in many ways. First was the drought, then came army worms, which were followed closely by the raging floods last year (as you know my family was greatly affected). Now there is the desert locusts, coronavirus, and the floods again in quick succession. Praise be to God who has made us resilient every time we are tested. We shall get past this also.

The victims urgently need food, blankets, mattress, medicines etc. Please pray for them.

Thank you.
Yours In God’s Service
Pastor Davis Ochieno Juma
