Pray for New Hope Ministries in Malawi

Please join me in praying for Pastor Mazareth Mfune and his wife and New Hope Ministries. We “met ” on LinkedIn recently. I copied this from his LinkedIn page:

Calvary greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I thank Him every day for salvation which He gave me I did not pay anything or work for it but by His own Grace. I want to introduce myself to you; Am pastor of local church, the church name is New Hope family church here in MalawiAfrica. We are the small church in the city of Mzuzu but we have some church branches in villages in very remote area no access of transport only Bicycles. Am married having four children. I became aborn again in 1994 I was very young then when I was 12 yrs old.

We are doing the following:
1: To reach-out to the unreached people with the Gospel of Christ,
2: To evangelize and Plant Churches in all over Malawi,
3: To help vulnerable children and Orphans, widows (OVS) around our
catchment areas.
4: To reach people with HIV/AIDS, that has left many families in disparate, and brings Hope to them. Am keeping 15 children {°orphans} feeding them educating them.

In his LinkedIn messages to me, he gave some backgraound information about their New Hope Children Foundation:

New Hope Children Foundation is the realization of my dream to care for orphaned children. After telling my wife about opening our house to some orphaned children, she agreed to support my dream also we shared this vision with small Church. So we created a space in our house to share what we have with the orphaned children.

We have 20 children of whom we support plus our own they make 25. My desire to care for the less fortunate started from when I was a young boy. Being brought up in a slum by a single parent, I witnessed how children were suffering after being abandoned by their parents due to excess drinking or poverty and orphans who were left destitute after the death of their parents due to HIV and AIDS. I felt in my heart that all the hurting children should be taken care of by the government, yet nobody cared about them. It is because of this situation that I vowed in my heart that if I Find money in future and have my own house, I would not live to see a child suffer after losing parents but would accommodate and live with them.

Therefore after I got married in 2004 and the AIDS pandemic was the talk of the day, children were left orphaned all over, my heart was yearning with passion to accommodate all of them in order to relieve them from suffering. This is what motivated me to start an orphanage, to at least help one of them. Therefore I made up my mind to take up a 6 year old girl from our church who’s parents both died within a short space of time and no relatives were willing to care for her. In March 2010 we opened our door to this orphaned girl and made her one of our own.

In January 2011, while watching the news on the television, I saw a family of four children abandoned by their grandmother after their parents died and with no one left to take care of them. I was deeply concerned , they took me to where their grandmother was and she allowed me to bring them back to Dream. The children were aged between 4 and 10 years old.

In February 2012 I went to the Ministry of Social Services to express my desire to help the needy children and after hearing that children were already living in our home; they agreed to register us as an orphanage. So today we are registered under the Ministry of Home Affairs as a charitable institution New Hope Children Foundation.

We then put up a sign to advertise the orphanage to the public; the children’s office and the communities at large have been knocking at our door with orphaned children who have no one to take care of them. We intend to keep the children till they are 19 years old unless they are still in education. Our home has now grown to having 25 children in total. We are still located at the in Mzuzu.
